After only 3 hours, I can say that the price was very worthwhile.
The background is blacker, it is much more natural, softer, more analogous and emotional.
In addition, there is more dynamics, relaxation and plasticity. Virtual space and stage are better.
Of course, this is also due to the Schnerzinger TS 5000 power cable in front of it. Well-rehearsed that will be great.

The X1 is everything I hoped it would be – especially its absence of digital brightness – and even more than I expected in the bass frequencies. And with fibre, the clarity is astonishing!
For someone who loves streaming as I do, and who can fit all the music they own on a USB stick (mine is 256GB), it’s perfect. Well worth the money, puts a smile on my face day after day.
I hope these notes will help you explain the value proposition of the X1 to interested customers.
OVERALL SOUND:
The reviewers got it right, the X1 has a natural, neutral sound that is very detailed, open and free from ALL digital glare/harshness/brightness. What I would add and which surprised me the most is how deep and clean the bass is – I have never heard anything close. Bass textures remain so distinct from each other – bass guitar, upright bass, kick drum, bass synth, etc.
An interesting point is how the clarity of the X1 makes tube rolling more important (in my preamp) as it’s now easier to hear differences between tubes. (SS power amp so can’t comment there.)
FIBRE VS ETHERNET:
I am using Uptone EtherRegen, which has an SFP port, for both (powered by Uptone JS-2 power supply, using your copper DC cable; I also tried your silver DC cable which resulted in spectacular speed and transients with the Uptone combo but at the time I was putting a priority on bass, for which I preferred copper – I can see myself going back to silver for the Uptone combo in the future).
When connecting to the X1 via Ethernet, the EtherRegen made a major improvement vs. direct to modem; it seemed to reduce noise an impressive amount.
When connecting to the X1 via fibre (details below), I would roughly estimate double the improvement that I experienced with the above Ethernet connection from the EtherRegen. So fibre is my clear preference.
FIBRE EQUIPMENT:
I compared single mode fibre vs multimode fibre and preferred single mode (which is what Lumin recommends on their website fibre setup page; also Peter Lie, Lumin firmware lead, says most users prefer it).
I am using a single mode Corning fibre cable from FS.com (exact same as recommended on Lumin site) 5m (16ft) LC-LC OS2 BIF Fiber Patch Cable, 0.12dB IL - FS
Plus two single mode 1310nm 20km SFP modules (Cisco compatible version but EtherRegen says their SFP works with most brands) from FS.com Cisco GLC-LH-SM-20 1000BASE-LX/LH SFP Transceiver Module - FS
I haven’t tried other SFPs from other companies or for other distances; my SFPs are similar to Lumin’s recommendation except theirs are 10km and mine are 20km (maybe one day I will compare).

I just purchased a Lumin X1 DC cable from you.
I just wanted to say WOW and Thank You!! I have not been at this hobby for a very long time, but I have had my share of cables for various things. ALL of them have needed to have some "burn in" time before they reached their full potential. That being said...
I installed the DC cable last night, turned everything back on and started some music. It just happened to be on some jazz that I have become very accustomed to. From the first cymbal hit I could immediately hear the difference. It startled me. It sounded so real and sooo much better! Thank you for that!

I am listening to your DC cable and it is great. Thank you for the quick shipping and a great quality product. The difference is immediate and I expect it to get better with some use. It has made the Lumin sound more open and vibrant as if it was being held back before. The effect is similar to a Cartridge upgrade on vinyl.
